Yoke Of Christ In Prophecy

Reading Time: 6 minutesTake my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Mat 11:29-30.

With whats going on in the world today, many churches are saying all manner of things about the mark of the beast; as its called in Bible prophecy. Is this really what we should be preaching? Should “the beast” be the main thrust of our “evangelism?”

The tempter often whispers that the Christian life is one of exaction, of rigorous duties, that it is hard to be on the watch continually, and there is no need of being so particular. It was thus that he deceived and overthrew Eve in Eden, telling her that God’s commands were arbitrary and unjust. . . . Satan’s object is the same now as then. He desires to deceive and ruin us. We should study the life of Christ and seek to cherish His spirit and copy His example, and the more we become like Him, the more clearly shall we discern the temptation of Satan, and the more successfully resist his power.

True happiness is to be found, not in self-indulgence and self-pleasing, but in learning of Christ, taking His yoke, and bearing His burden. Those who trust to their own wisdom and follow their own ways, go complaining at every step, because the burden which selfishness binds upon them is so heavy and its yoke so galling. They might change all this if they would but come to Jesus and by His grace put off the yoke that links them to Satan, . . . take the burden which Christ gives them, and let His yoke bind them to Him in willing, happy service.

Jesus loves the young, and He longs to have them possess that peace which He alone can impart. . . . If we have become the disciples of Christ we shall be learning of Him–every day learning how to overcome some unlovely trait of character, every day copying His example and coming a little nearer the Pattern. If we are ever to inherit those mansions that He has gone to prepare for us we must here be forming such characters as the dwellers there are to possess.

The requirements of God are made in wisdom and goodness. In obeying them, the mind enlarges, the character improves, and the soul finds a peace and rest that the world can neither give nor take away. When the heart is fully surrendered to Jesus, His ways will be found to be ways of pleasantness and peace, and victory IN CHRIST: thats what The Three Angel’s MESSAGE is.

Rev 14:6  Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. Rev 14:7  He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.” Rev 14:8  A second angel followed and said, “‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great,’ which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.”

A wonderful feature of the prophetic word is that the people of God are never brought into positions of trial and difficulty, and there abandoned. God’s people will never put us in a situation where we could not have strength to stand. After taking them into scenes of danger, the voice of prophecy does not leave them there to guess their fate, in doubt, perhaps despair, as to the final result. None of this takes the believer, around, over, or under; but directly THROUGH what He chooses us for. Rather, it takes them through to the end, and reveals the final triumph of the faithful.

THIS is why its called The Three Angel’s MESSAGE. While there are indeed, three angels, each giving a part of the message; it is the three parts in combination and collectively that find confluence in the MESSAGE rather than the plural, “messages.”

There is One, united message about victory in Christ. While it does warn against receiving “the mark of the beast,” the real, “cutting truth” is simply Victory in Christ; and through His Spirit, are clearly the ringing bells of the church today! But it’s also callede a “cutting truth” because being born again, and letting Christ create in you a new heart, so that He is NOT just a savior, but also your very personal LORD. JESUS is “the corner stone” that the builders reject. The builders of the church, are rejecting the Corner Stone which is Jesus Christ, our Lord.

God’s People should LIFT up the trumpet! Lift UP Jesus! (Isa 58:1, John 12:32)

Joh 12:32  And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

Want to know HOW The Three Angels’s Messages may fit in your life in a practical way; and keep you close to Him, and come to know Him as both Lord and Savior? Here are a few things that come to mind.

No Rest for Some.–Never before was there such a general knowledge of Jesus as when He hung upon the cross. He was lifted up from the earth, to draw all to Him. Into the hearts of many who beheld that crucifixion scene, and who heard Christ’s words, was the light of truth to shine. With John they would proclaim, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

There were those who never rested until, searching the Scriptures and comparing passage with passage, they saw the meaning of Christ’s mission. They saw that free forgiveness was provided by Him whose tender mercy embraced the whole world. They read the prophecies regarding Christ, and the promises so free and full, pointing to a fountain opened for Judah and Jerusalem

Study All in Light From Cross.–The sacrifice of Christ as an atonement for sin is the great truth around which all other truths cluster. In order to be rightly understood and appreciated, every truth in the Word of God, from Genesis to Revelation, must be studied in the light which streams from the cross of Calvary, and in connection with the wondrous, central truth of the Saviour’s atonement. Those who study the Redeemer’s wonderful sacrifice grow in grace and knowledge.

I present before you the great, grand monument of mercy and regeneration, salvation and redemption–the Son of God uplifted on the cross of Calvary. This is to be the theme of every discourse. Christ declares, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me”).

The Cross Planted Between Earth and Heaven.–When Christ came to this world, He found that Satan had everything as he wanted it. The adversary of God and man thought that he was indeed the prince of the earth, but Jesus laid hold of the world to take it out of the power of Satan. He came to redeem it from the curse of sin and the penalty of transgression, that the transgressor might be forgiven. He planted the cross between earth and heaven, and between divinity and humanity; and as the Father beheld the cross, He was satisfied. He said, “It is enough, the offering is complete.” God and man may be reconciled.

Those who have lived in rebellion against God, may become reconciled, if as they see the cross, they become repentant, and accept the great propitiation that Christ has made for their sins. In the cross they see that “mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other” {5BC 1137.9}

(Gal 6:14.) The Cross a Center in the World.–The cross stands alone, a great center in the world. It does not find friends, but it makes them. It creates its own agencies. Christ proposes that men shall become laborers together with God. He makes human beings His instrumentalities for drawing all men unto Himself. A divine agency is sufficient only through its operation on human hearts with its transforming power, making men colaborers with God. {5BC 1138.1}
