The Unclouded Day

“The God of Israel, The Rock of Israel spoke to me, ‘He who rules over men righteously, Who rules in the fear of God, Is like the morning light when the sun rises, A morning without clouds, When the fresh grass springs out of the earth Through sunshine after rain.’ (2 Sam 23:3-4).

God is in the thick clouds
God is in the thick clouds

Jesus was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of humanity, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:10-14, KJV)

All who welcome Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives are reborn spiritually, and then they will receive new life from God. (Isa 43:19).

Through faith in Christ, this new birth changes us from the inside out. The New Thing that Jesus wants to do in you is to rearrange your attitudes, desires, and motives.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. (2 Cor 5:17, AMP).

Being born of God makes one spiritually alive and puts us in God’s family (Isa 43:19, John 1:12-13).

Have you asked Christ to make you a new person? You know what I am talking about, I am sure. That new person that you cannot make on your own. This fresh start in life is available to all who believe in Christ. Jesus says to all who receive Him: “To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial, And a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name which will not be cut off.” (Isa 56:5).

When someone tries to tell you there was some sort of “first Church” we must recall how that Scripture does not really reflect this exact idea, for the church has always existed. One, of many reasons we can know this is because the “name” as mentioned in Isa 56:5 above tells us that God’s Church, or Remnant takes on an “everlasting name.” Anything that is “everlasting” has no beginning, no end. “Everlasting” did not wait until The New Testament to begin!

It is essential to grasp the Bible’s sense and meaning in its use of the word “everlasting.” (Neh 8:8). I have found in my personal experience with Jesus that the way He brings to pass this “gave He power” portion of John 1:12 is captioned well by Adam Clarke in his commentary on the Bible for this verse:

Gave He Power – Εξουσιαν, Privilege, honor, dignity, or right. Anyone who is made a child of God enjoys the greatest privilege which the Divine Being can confer on this side eternity.

Those who accept Jesus Christ, as he is offered to them in the Bible, have, through His blood, a right to this sonship/daughtership; for by that Sacrifice this blessing was purchased; and the fullest promises of God confirms it to all who believe, to everyone who seeks Jesus with all their heart.:

“But now [at this very moment] in Christ Jesus you who once were [so very] far away [from God] have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” (Eph 2:13, AMP)

Those who are engrafted in the heavenly family have the highest honor and dignity to which it is possible for a human soul to obtain. What an astonishing thought this is! The sinner, who was an heir to all God’s curses, has, through the sacrifice of Jesus, a claim on the mercy of the Most High, and a right to be saved! (Gal 6:14)

Even justice itself, on the ground of its holy and eternal nature, gives salvation to the vilest offender who takes refuge in this atonement; for justice has nothing to grant, or Heaven to give, which the blood of the Son of God has not merited. (taken from Adam Clarke’s Commentary On The Bible).

I can think of times where I would be looking at my life, and just plain thinking the very worst. BUT Jesus has been doing His “new thing” (Isa 43:19) in me, and thinking the very best! Jesus accepted and received what I deserve; that I might accept and receive what Jesus deserves.

The Unclouded Day of our opening text ((2 Sam 23:3-4), calls to us as God’s people to simply place our lips, our minds at God’s disposal. That Jesus might obtain that “door of utterance” (1 Cor 12:8, Col 4:3). This door of utterance gives Jesus the opportunity to speak through our lips, that we, His children, The Remnant, (Gen 45:7), might have His Words of comfort, hope, and guidance, in our message, and through our daily lives. With the wonderful love of Jesus, pouring into our souls, that it might pour into the struggling, perishing world around us, like the morning light of the rising sun:

Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street. (Lam 2:19)

For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: (Isa 44:3)

Anyone who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.'” (John 7:38)

When my heart is breaking from domestic, or some sort of public anxiety, what a comfort it is to look away from Social Media, so called, to the rising Light of His Word. To the water over-flowing from springs that fail not:

And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Isa 58:11).

It is a well-known fact that at times, it seems like God’s purposes in our lives appears to just come to a complete stand still. I think everyone must go through this struggle at times. I am reminded of the text:

“He maketh it not to grow…” (2 Sam 23:5)

And yet, beneath all the “scaffolding” of The New Thing Church” is arising from the world’s abject darkness, and panicked loneliness, we may concurrently experience the harvest seeds as they swell from the rains and beckon unto the sunshine above the ground they are in. Of a truth, we see today, from beneath the Riven Rock, the New Person Remnant arising out of the confusion, darkness, and almost rabid isolationism everywhere.

Praise God! His New Thing Remnant from all walks of life, is real. The “New Thing” spoken of by the prophet of old, is here now. And as soon as it is finished; Jesus will come again! While this “New Thing” is happening all around us, I highly doubt that the “New Person” has yet been completed in me; Jesus longs to finish this work and I often interfere with His work and plans:

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. (Isa 54:10)

Jesus desires that The New Person People be together during those final events just before He comes again. (1 Thes 4:13-18). Jesus, The Light of the world, ( John 8:12), shall then be to us as the Light of the morning from where Jesus shall be to His New People Remnant, the One bringing in full display and glory THAT Light of the resurrection morning! (Psalms 30:5).

If anyone walk in that day, they do not stumble, because they see the Light of this world. (John 11:9). And Jesus “walking amongst the seven Lampstands (the New Thing Remnant), bringing in a full display of our common salvation, (Jude 1:3), and literally pouring, through His Spirit, the golden rays of His Light into the dark shadows, and the thick clouds of our lives. THIS is The Light that results in Salvation. The Golden Rays of His Love, Mercy, and Grace. The love of Christ shall in the end be as the shining sun on an Unclouded Day as it arises out of the darkness of night.

As the Early and the Latter Rain is poured out over the land and makes everything lush and green, so too may our grace and glory increase. (2 Pet 3:18). We grow into the full stature of Christ. We are His “New Thing Remnant.”

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. (Isa 43:19).

I spoke with a friend about this subject over the last week or so. They told me that “we cant be fixed, because we have to be broken. “Perfectly Broken,” is how my friend puts it.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble; Jesus will revive me!” (Psalms 38:7).

I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,(Phil 3:8-10)

Like the Eagle (Isa 40:31) we may harness the power of the storm, convert it to energy, USE THAT ENERGY TO rest, (IN Christ), and to rise above the clouds into the sunshine of His presence and love on just a single ray of hope:

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] (John 16:33).

One text that has really stood out for me regarding this New Thing Remnant

reads as follows:

Beloved, in regard to all things I pray that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.(3 John 1:2).

Now, I was taught by some who claimed to be “The Remnant” that we need to practice a “health message” in order to have “the fullness of truth,” and be”more saved” than people in other churches. One thing led to another, and I failed miserably at having a vegetarian life style and of having that”prospering in health” that this text talks about. I was unhappy. I was out of shape. I weighed 250 lbs. Way too much for my height and age. My waist size was 40 inches.Obviously we need more than beans and carrots to be in good health! What about that phrase: “as it is well with your soul?”

Last year, I lost my wife to cancer. We loved each other dearly, and we kept saying “God saved the best till last.” I was not able to think straight for a while after that. For a time, it was not well with my soul at all. As soon as I decided to literally give all that grief to Jesus, it became very well with my soul. And like the verse says We will be in good health, “as it is well with our soul! Something like when Jesus says “you are forgiven AS YOU FORGIVE” we are in good health only “AS IT IS WELL WITH OUR SOUL.”

After around four months of talking to Jesus, studying my Bible, and living a vegetarian life style, I am down to just 216 lbs and only a 36 inch waist.

Jesus has personally led me to the unclouded day. My own little “resurrection” if you will, where He is “doing a new thing” I now walk in “the power of His resurrection,” (Phil 3:21), and I am experiencing great joy with a new friend, she is a wonderful lady, and we have become good friends over the last little while. And I didn’t think that any of this would be possible. I didn’t think Jesus could do such a thing! I held fast to thick clouds of doubt that it would never be well with my soul again.

And now, just today, I have been blessed with a certificate of thanks I just received from The Cancer Society that I have been working with, using my horrible experiences of losing my wife, to share with others the very comforts that I have received from other people in my life, and most of all, from Jesus.

By God’s grace; my late wife, my family, my friends, all I know who have died, or might die soon will rise from the dead on that last cloudy day when we all rise up together on the clouds to meet Jesus there! (Phil 3:11). My heart is at peace. My purpose seems clear:

I move on to take hold of what Christ Jesus took hold of me for!” (Phil 3:12).

I have not yet received the prize; I am not currently glorified, for I have not yet finished my course; and I have a conflict still to maintain, and the issues at hand will prove whether or not I should be crowned.

When Paul wrote, “so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead,” he was not implying uncertainty or doubt. While Paul was unsure of the exact way that he would meet God, whether by execution or by natural death, he did not doubt that he would be raised, but attainment of Paul’s resurrection was within God’s power and not his own!

Just as Christ was exalted after his resurrection, so too, I will one day share Christ’s glory (Rev 22:1-7).

I know that I may one day die too; yet I have faith that during the Unclouded Day and because of Jesus and His promises, I will be raised to life again. And this is what makes even today, even during a pandemic, my Unclouded Day!

The clouds I am always going on about hold many lessons for us today about what God wants from us. What He has for us. What He wants to do for us. What He has already done!

JESUS has Light for me! Jesus is my Light!

In verity, our calling is our crown.

Will you answer God’s call to you today?

Light in every cloud!

Expect it!
