Prophecy Flowers

Reading Time: 7 minutes

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. (Isaiah 35:1-2)

It was an amazing visit. When I woke up today, God told me to make sure that I go right to where they lived, and share some testimony with them, along with a “precious promise” (2 Pet 1:4).  God’s says clearly  “by these we might be partakers of the divine nature,” So that we may have a solid footing during times like we are all going through now.

Earlier today, just as the Sabbath was arriving, I had a very good visit with my new Catholic friends. When they asked me if I was Catholic too, I chuckled and replied

“Im just a rusty old Protestant.”

We shared some stories/testimonies, had a brief discussion re Phil 4:19, and after the prayer, they both reverently, respectfully, made the sign of the cross. They had tears as I shared God’s promise, Phil 4:19, with them. They are very destitute right now. They have been living in a shack deep in the bush. Just found a place in town. This promise was very meaningful for them. I was just following the ideas as expressed in Mat 5:15, Acts 5:42. Evangelism happens from house to house. From neighbour to neighbour, as well as through the local church. Especially during times like we have now. People need The Lord. Thank you Jesus. I can see that I did not just buy a chain saw today. The chain saw that I bought was what my new friends in Christ used for a few months when they had to live out in the bush because they had no where to live. They used it to cut wood and keep warm. Staying in a Motel right now. They have apartment lined up for next week.

In Phil 4:19, the “precious promise” that I shared with my new friends it says: “My God will supply all your need.” I didn’t want to do all that I did today, initially. I was tired. Didnt feel too good. Aches and pains. I just wanted to go buy a chainsaw! But I have learned better than to try ignoring THAT Voice which was calling me to speak a Word in season today. And what a wonderful way to greet the Sabbath. Though trouble keeps knocking at my door, In Christ, I can still go house to house, and impart to searching hearts the bread of life. God always provides, I reasoned by the promise; the very promise that I was sharing. This promise assures everyone, not just me. I think Jesus simply wants His people to share whatever He gives us. Whatever we are saved by. Whatever our personal gospel experience is. THAT is what we give to others. (1 John 1:1-3) THAT kind of personal testimony is “the everlasting gospel” in verity. (Rev 12:10-11). God’s love, mercy, and grace. Its the force that will “move the world” in the Loud Cry of the message from the three angels. (Rev 14:6-7). Rev 12:10-11 informs us that ‘they overcame the devil and his evil works by the blood of The lamb and by the WORD of their testimony.”

The Holy Spirit was obviously in attendance there in that humble dwelling. They even had home made cookies and tea ready for me. Hmmm. How did they know that I was gonna sit and talk with them? And just listen, And to be present. (Mat 26:38). The Loud Cry. Our personal testimony. Prophecy. Its is always about the cross! Always about “Christ in me, THE Hope in glory!” When we make it about Jesus we don’t have to argue doctrine, because Jesus does all that with the precious souls he asks us all of us in Churchianity to reach out to.

I used to do this type of house to house ministry (Acts 5:42, Mat 5:15), years ago, and during the first Iraq war God supplied almost 300 people to study the scriptures with, through Bible correspondence, and prayer over the phone line we had set up for that purpose. There were many scared people wanting someone to pray with/for them.

Our world is fast-changing. Maybe God is calling me again? Is God calling His church now? Surely Jesus is not just calling me??!! Maybe I should pray for 1000 souls this time? There are already close to 200 souls getting this email weekly. The internet makes it possible now to reach people all around the world right in their own living rooms. “House to house” all the way to heaven! All thats needed when God calls any of us to reach out to a friend in need,(neighbours/family etc are friends) is to echo Isaiah’s response and say “here am I Lord, send me.” (Isaiah 6:8) Jesus will do the rest by His Holy, educating Spirit:

God’s holy, educating Spirit is in His word. A light, a new and precious light, shines forth from every page. Truth is there revealed, and words and sentences are made bright and appropriate for the occasion, as the voice of God speaking to the soul. {C O L 132.2}

While praying with my new friends today, I experienced a growing conviction that I very often just don’t ask Jesus for enough! I don’t ask big enough! I am learning on the fly here that if my prayers seem to be not easy enough, then I am just plain WRONG! If, to me, my prayers seem to be a serious, laborious effort, then I am completely out of the loop and confused about God myself! Jesus admonished us to

“Stay awake and pray that you won’t be tested. You want to do what is right, but you are weak.” (Mat 26:41).

I have been finding that if I pray, and choose to deal with the sacred simplicity of prayer, and then I say “its hard work to pray,” then I am very wrong. If my prayers are a major effort, then I am right out of the loop of the love, mercy, and grace of our Saviour; and then I will never stand a chance to understand Bible prophecy in all its intended elements.

Even prayer is not on its own a doctrine. Prayer is also about the cross. For the great central truth of Christ and Him crucified is particularly emphasized in prayer from the heart. It is precisely because our Saviour went through all those depths of agony from His last ebb of strength in Gesthemane, to the brutality of the cross that we may have the boldness needed to enter into the Holiest, where our living God awaits the reception of our prayer. Heb 10:19 tells us that our prayers are heard ONLY as they are related to Christ and Him crucified. It is ONLY by His blood that we can enter our own Garden of Prayer. It is no different regarding any of the “beasts” or “anti-Christs” of Bible prophecy. Its ALWAYS ABOUT THE CROSS.” And YES!! That word “anti-christs is plural! (1 John 2:18).

I sometimes think about flowers, in the rain. Actually, I think about them a lot. I have always loved flowers, since I was a little boy and making necklaces and even a tiara once for my precious Mom. My Mom sure smiled when I joyfully presented her with my latest creation. Today I realized that flowers are the perfect way to view how Jesus works in us. Even now. By those gentle Hands of Jesus we were all just like the clay in the Potter’s hands. And then He moulds us (flowers) to become what He wants us to be. Each one very different. But each one, also called “a flower.” Just like the little flowers in the rain. On behalf of all flowers, Jesus brings the sun, the rain, and the clouds. Yet all these work in cooperation and harmony to bring into being the diverse beauty of all the flowers in the world. And didn’t Jesus use “flowers” to describe His great love for us?

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. (Luke 12:27).

Christ came to give to all people the wealth of “the eternal, the everlasting gospel!” Eternity with Jesus, and this wealth, through connection with Him, (1 John 5:11-12) we are to receive and impart. Not only to those who love us, but to every person God sets in our path. Christ says, The world is enshrouded in darkness. Let your light so shine before everyone, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Everyone who truly loves God will be a light in the world.

Jesus makes our hearts warm when we are cold-hearted, and while we sleep, Jesus keeps refreshing. Just like He does all the little flowers in the fields at night. My friends, we are in the night time of Bible prophecy. Soon the trying times of Rev 3:10 will be upon ‘the whole world,’ and we will all need that special prayer relationship with Jesus to get through it all. While I sleep. While I dream. All those little flowers in the rain, growing stronger each day as they grow in grace. (2 Pet 3:18). By the Hand of God I am tended and cared for. Flower in the rain, buffeted by the storms of life. By God’s grace. By God’s Love. By God’s mercy. I gratefully live in faith and love today.

Its by His Word that each flower grows, Not one flower grows astray, ever. They are always just where Jesus desires them to be, Always. (Isa 22:3).  Even on top of mountains or in the desert. All grow in their appointed place. By His love. By His power. By His might. And in the prophetic sense, the Bible tells us that we humans in all of our dirt and messes, are “kept by the mighty power of God.” (1 Pet 1:5). Jesus came once to die that I may come to Him once to live.  And Jesus says today that people do not live by bread alone; but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. In these trying last days, we are spoken to by God’s Son, and He Himself has recommended His Holy Word to be stored and treasured in our hearts. I can imagine us all, something like flowers in the rain, even in the night times of our existence, still being nurtured, still receiving the Living water of our Lord. (John 4:10-11).

Friends, today we may be comforted by the fact that Bible prophecy is considered by all Bible writers, and all those who know and love Jesus, as “the Light of the world.” (2 Pet 1:19).Since Jesus is the alpha and omega, we can be certain that Jesus, on the cross and resurrected is where the true seat of true power (John 1:12) comes from for the trying times we are living in now.

Don’t let anyone tell you different. It really is about the cross. And Little flowers.
